Evolution of our R.42 wheels.

Thanks to the newly developed VONOA carbon spokes, the total weight of the wheelset could be reduced by 144g or almost 10%. Due to the higher stiffness of the spokes, the wheelset requires only 21 instead of 24 spokes. A positive side effect of the reduction is a further reduction in aerodynamic drag.

The riders from Team Intermarche Wanty will use the R.42 VONOA in all the spring classics.

"For me, the highlight is the acceleration when it's really steep uphill. In normal flat races or hilly courses, it's all about "aero" these days. But when the real climbers are conquering the big climbs at 10 - 12%, it's all about that one acceleration, maximum stiffness when pedaling uphill and light weight uphill. That one acceleration can make the difference between being left behind or being able to follow."
