TRQ – Wheels Designed for Maximum E-Bike Loads

More torque. More load. More reserves.

Modern e-bikes are becoming more powerful and are subjecting the wheelset to ever-greater forces. That’s exactly why we developed the TRQ Series.

TRQ stands for Torque. The wheelsets are specifically designed to handle the high loads of modern e-bikes and e-MTBs and are certified for a maximum motor torque of 200 Nm, a system weight of up to 180 kg, and ASTM Category 5.

But it’s not just about maximum load capacity. The TRQ series combines high stability with relatively low weight, precise handling, and high performance.

Three different wheelsets offer the right combination of materials, weight, and price: Performance TRQ, Beskar TRQ, and Phase TRQ.

We build all TRQ wheelsets the same way: at the center is the newly developed TRQ hub, J-Bend D-Light spokes, and our proven Performance, Beskar, or Phase rims. Always in the Base/Strong combination and with 28 spokes on the front wheel and 32 spokes on the rear wheel.

A hub designed specifically for e-bikes

At the heart of all TRQ wheels is our newly developed TRQ hub. It was designed from the ground up to handle the high torques and loads of modern e-bike drivetrains.

Areas of the hub subject to particularly high stress have been specifically reinforced. A steel axle, a steel freehub body, and a robust overall design ensure high load-bearing capacity and long-term reliability.

We also rely on a standardized solution for the spokes: D-Light J-Bend spokes ensure a uniform force distribution and eliminate sharp edges.

Proven Rims

For the TRQ series, we rely on our proven rims.

Always with the “Base” rim up front and the “Strong” rim in the rear, and always with 28 spokes on the front wheel and 32 spokes on the rear wheel.

With this design, we reduce weight on the front wheel—which bears less load—while the rear wheel’s stronger rim provides ample reserves to handle harder impacts and the increased load from the motor.

Base in the front. Strong in the rear. Strength where it’s needed.

This creates a balanced combination of weight, stability, and riding performance.

Three models, one concept

The TRQ Series offers three different wheel sets to meet a variety of needs and budgets.

Performance TRQ: Durable aluminum. Attractive price.
The Performance TRQ is the entry-level model in the TRQ Series. Durable aluminum rims, the TRQ hub, and the Base/Strong concept combine high durability with an attractive price.

Beskar TRQ: High-end aluminum for demanding e-MTBs.
The Beskar TRQ combines the TRQ hub with our proven Beskar Base and Beskar Strong aluminum rims.
These high-quality aluminum rims offer high stability and unbeatable impact resistance while maintaining a balanced weight.

Phase TRQ: High-end carbon. Lightweight. Maximum efficiency.
The Phase TRQ is the high-end carbon model in the TRQ family. It combines the TRQ hub with our proven Phase Base and Strong rims.
